In a heartfelt gesture to honor the memory of the late legendary singer Zubeen Garg, the Golaghat-based All & Sundry NGO has launched the “Green Tribute” movement across Golaghat and Jorhat districts. Initiated on October 1, 2025, the initiative seeks to celebrate Zubeen Garg’s enduring cultural, philanthropic, and environmental legacy.

Conceptualized by Abhishek Singha, Founder of All & Sundry NGO, the movement focuses on planting trees and promoting environmental awareness. “Green Tribute is an unending movement of All & Sundry NGO to mark the philanthropic legacy of the legendary singer Zubeen Garg. He was not only a cultural phenomenon but also a nature-lover and wildlife warrior. In his memory, we have distributed Mahogany, Titachapa, Bogipama, Arjun, and fruit-bearing saplings among 1,700 families in Golaghat and Jorhat districts in a phased and organized manner,” Abhishek Singha said.

The ceremonial launch of the movement was held in Golaghat, where State Transport Minister Jogen Mohan distributed saplings to students. Speaking at the event, Minister Jogen Mohan said, “The Green Tribute movement of All & Sundry NGO not only honors Zubeen Garg’s enduring cultural legacy but also contributes to environmental and wildlife conservation. This initiative is a meaningful way to combine social responsibility with remembrance of a beloved icon.”

Olympic Bronze Medalist, Arjuna Awardee, and Khel Ratna winner Lovlina Borgohain also praised the initiative. She said, “The Green Tribute movement of All & Sundry NGO will send a powerful message worldwide. This thoughtful gesture reflects Zubeen Garg’s love for nature, birds, and animals. His philanthropic legacy continues to nurture the environment and living beings, serving as an example for everyone.”

Residents who received saplings during the Green Tribute pledged to plant them in their homes and community spaces. They also committed to creating habitats for birds and other small animals, ensuring that the movement not only commemorates the singer but also contributes to sustainable environmental practices.

Abhishek Singha said that the Green Tribute movement is designed as an ongoing initiative. “We want Zubeen Garg’s memory to inspire generations to come. By planting trees and creating greener spaces, we are keeping alive his love for nature and his spirit of giving back to the community,” he added.
