‘Kanchanjangha Zubeen’ memoir row: APCC Chairman Bedabrat Bora clarifies errors

Ahead of the release of the much-anticipated memoir ‘Kanchanjangha Zubeen’, the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has issued a clarification regarding minor errors in the publication. In a Facebook post, APCC Chairman Bedabrat Bora acknowledged the mistakes and explained that they have now been corrected.

The first error involved a line in the original release that mistakenly suggested that the beloved singer Zubeen Garg had passed away during a scuba diving incident. In truth, Zubeen Garg’s untimely death was of a mysterious nature, and the technical mistake had been inadvertently included in the brief biography section of the memoir.

The second mistake was a typographical error, where the word “Festival” had missing letters in the text. Both errors were unintentional and have now been fixed in the updated PDF version of the memoir. This corrected version is available for free download for all readers, as confirmed by Bora.

In his post, Bora said that the memoir was created with the sole purpose of honoring and celebrating Zubeen Garg’s life and achievements. He encouraged readers to provide feedback and said, “Criticism is always welcome, and we apologize for any typographical or printing mistakes. We invite anyone interested in conducting in-depth research on Zubeen Garg to share their work, and it will be gratefully acknowledged.”
