Renowned Assamese singer, lyricist, composer, and former radio announcer Syed Sadulla has been admitted to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) after being diagnosed with a severe blood-related disease. The much-loved veteran, who has been an inseparable part of Assam’s musical journey for several decades, is now fighting for his life under intensive medical care.
Hospital authorities have confirmed that Syed Sadulla has been diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia (CLL), a serious type of blood cancer. His condition has worsened due to hypoxia-related complications, which have caused severe breathing distress. Doctors attending to him said his health had deteriorated rapidly over the past few days, and he was shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU). He is currently on ventilator support, and his condition remains extremely critical.
A team of specialists at GMCH, including oncologists and respiratory experts, is closely monitoring his treatment. Hospital sources said that every possible measure is being taken to stabilize him and improve his oxygen levels. “He is under constant observation, and all required support is being provided,” said a senior doctor at GMCH, requesting anonymity.
