The results for the Buxar Assembly constituency in the 2025 Bihar elections were declared today, confirming a decisive victory for BJP’s Anand Mishra. Mishra secured a total of 84,901 votes, defeating Indian National Congress (INC) candidate Sanjay Kumar Tiwari by a margin of 28,353 votes.

The counting process saw fluctuations in early trends, but Mishra gradually took a clear lead over Tiwari. By mid-afternoon, Mishra had already crossed 80,000 votes, while Tiwari was trailing with 52,808 votes. As the counting progressed, the margin widened, confirming the BJP candidate’s strong position in the constituency.

Apart from the main contenders, other candidates in the fray included Abhimnyu Maury from the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Tathagat Harsh Vardhan from the Janata Shakti Party (JSP), and independent candidate Rampravesh Singh. All three candidates failed to make a significant impact, with votes primarily split between the BJP and INC candidates.

The Buxar constituency, traditionally known for its mixed voter base and local political dynamics, witnessed a high voter turnout this year. Analysts attribute Mishra’s victory to the BJP’s consistent grassroots campaigning and the party’s wider performance across the region.
