Raijor Dal president and Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi met today with senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Sharad Pawar and his daughter, Member of Parliament Supriya Sule, in Mumbai. The meeting focused on the growing threat of communal politics in the country and ways to strengthen India’s agricultural system.

Gogoi said, “Today in Mumbai, I had an extensive discussion with Sharad Pawar and Supriya Sule about resisting the communal fascism being promoted by the BJP in the country. We also talked about various aspects of India’s agriculture, including the need for land reforms and the idea of an agricultural revolution.”

Gogoi said that the discussion emphasized practical steps to improve farmers’ lives and strengthen the farming sector. Supriya Sule shared her experience of transforming Baramati in Maharashtra from a drought-prone, rain-shadow area into a thriving agriculture-focused region. She explained in detail how proper planning, water management, and modern farming methods helped turn the region around.
