The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has constituted a legal committee to closely monitor the investigation and judicial proceedings related to the death of late Zubeen Garg. The decision was taken by APCC president Gaurav Gogoi.
The committee has been formed with the stated aim of keeping a close watch on the progress of the police investigation as well as the developments in court related to the case. The party said the move was taken in view of public concern and the need to ensure that the legal process moves forward in a fair and transparent manner.
As per the office note, the committee includes six advocates, most of them senior members of the legal fraternity. The members named in the committee are senior advocate Hafiz Rashid Ahmed Choudhury, senior advocate Ram Prasad Sarmah, advocate Dilip Choudhury, advocate Hamidur Rahman, advocate Hemanta Kalita, and advocate Rubi Gogoi.
The committee will work collectively to follow the case at different stages, including investigation and trial, if any.
