Organisers have said that this year’s fair has been highly successful, both culturally and commercially. Over the 13-day period, books worth Rs 6.80 crore were sold, which they described as a reflection of the strong reading culture that continues to exist in Assam. They said the sales figures show that the public still maintains a deep connection with books and literature.

The fair also brought together authors, publishers, teachers, students and readers from different parts of the state. A number of book releases, literary talks and cultural programmes were organised throughout the event, giving readers a chance to engage directly with writers and publishers.

The organisers said that the enthusiastic participation of readers and the impressive book sales underline that physical book fairs still remain relevant and meaningful, even at a time when digital platforms are expanding.

The Assam Book Fair has been regarded as an important platform to promote Assamese literature and to encourage reading among younger generations. With the conclusion of this year’s edition, the organisers expressed hope that the momentum built around reading and publishing will continue in the coming years as well.
