Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Assam on 21 December and will lay the foundation stone of the new project of Assam Valley Fertilizers and Chemicals Company Limited located in Namrup under the Naharkatia Assembly constituency in Dibrugarh district. The project is expected to be an important development for the fertilizer sector in the state and will also add to industrial activity in upper Assam.
According to the information received, the Prime Minister will also address a large public meeting during his visit. In view of this upcoming programme, top officials of the state government and district administration reached the proposed venue and took stock of the situation. Assam DGP Harmeet Singh, Naharkatia MLA Taranga Gogoi, Dibrugarh Superintendent of Police Abhijit Dilip Gaurav and several senior officers inspected the preparations.
The officials examined the security arrangements, traffic management and other basic facilities. They also discussed the movement plan of VIP convoys and reviewed the crowd management system. Police and other departments have already started coordination to ensure smooth arrangements before and during the visit.
Local MLA Taranga Gogoi has been holding regular meetings with officials of every department connected with the programme. He has been personally supervising the progress of the work for the last several days. Gogoi has instructed all concerned officials to carry out their responsibilities carefully so that there is no lapse during the visit of the Prime Minister.
