Gangtok witnessed a memorable night of music as British pop band Blue and South Korean K-pop group Everglow performed before a packed crowd at Paljor Stadium on Saturday. The performances were part of the Orchid Music Festival, which brought together artists from different countries and musical styles on one stage.

According to the organisers, the festival was organised by private groups with support from the Sikkim government. Music lovers from Gangtok and nearby areas gathered in large numbers to watch the international and regional artistes perform live. The stadium was filled with excitement as fans cheered, sang along, and waved lights during the performances.

The four-member British band Blue received a warm welcome from the audience. The band performed several of their popular songs, including All Rise and One Love, which drew loud applause from the crowd. Many fans were seen singing along to the familiar tunes, creating a lively and joyful atmosphere inside the stadium.

Blue is currently visiting India as part of its 25th anniversary world tour. The band has already performed in Imphal and Shillong as part of the tour. After the Gangtok concert, the band is scheduled to perform in Bengaluru on Sunday. Their appearance at the Orchid Music Festival marked their first performance in Sikkim, making the night special for many fans in the state.

Adding to the excitement, South Korean K-pop girl group Everglow also delivered an energetic performance that thrilled the audience. The group performed some of their most popular songs, including Dun Dun, La Di Da, and Adios. Their powerful dance moves, colourful stage presence, and strong vocals kept the crowd engaged throughout their set.

Fans of K-pop, especially younger audiences, were seen cheering loudly as Everglow took the stage. Many had arrived early to secure good spots and were seen recording videos and waving banners during the performance. The group’s performance highlighted the growing popularity of K-pop in India and the Northeast in particular.

Apart from the international acts, the Orchid Music Festival also featured performances by artistes from the region and neighbouring countries. Popular Nepalese singer Neetesh Jung Kunwar performed several of his well-known songs, drawing a positive response from the crowd. His simple style and relatable lyrics connected well with the audience.

Bhutanese artiste Sonam Wangchen also performed at the festival, adding a different musical flavour to the evening. Representing Sikkim, local folk-fusion band Sofiyum took the stage and showcased music rooted in the state’s culture while blending it with modern sounds. Their performance was warmly received, with many appreciating the inclusion of local talent alongside international stars.
