The Deputy Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly, Dr. Numal Momin, has condemned the incident of arson at the residence of Tuliram Ronghang, the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, terming the incident unfortunate and deeply disturbing.
Speaking on the issue, Dr Momin said that violence can never be a solution to any problem. He stressed that such acts only worsen the situation and create fear and instability in society. He appealed to all sections of people to remain calm and resolve differences through peaceful discussion and dialogue. According to him, peace and mutual understanding are the only ways to restore normalcy and trust.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has also appealed for restraint and urged all concerned to choose dialogue over confrontation. The Chief Minister emphasised that maintaining peace is in the interest of everyone and that discussions are essential to find a lasting solution to the issue. Similar appeals have been made by CEM Tuliram Ronghang and leaders of various organisations, who have called upon the public to avoid violence and support efforts for peace. 
Meanwhile, in view of the prevailing situation, Karbi Anglong District Commissioner Nirlal Phangcho has imposed prohibitory orders under Section 153 of the BNSS. As part of the measures, restrictions have been enforced on the movement of people and private vehicles from 5 pm to 6 am to prevent any further escalation of tension and to maintain law and order.
