Manipur Police and security forces arrested four underground cadres belonging to different banned outfits during a series of coordinated operations carried out in Bishnupur and Imphal West districts on Thursday, officials said.
According to police sources, the arrests were made following specific inputs and routine security operations aimed at maintaining law and order in the valley districts.
In Bishnupur district, an active cadre of PREPAK (Pro) was arrested from his residential area. The arrested person was identified as Wairokpam Atu Meitei, also known as Boiton, aged 22. He is a resident of Phoijing Tera Makhong under Nambol Police Station. Police said he was picked up from his locality without any resistance. During the arrest, a mobile phone was recovered from his possession. 
On the same day, another cadre of PREPAK was arrested from the Thanga Chingang playground area in Bishnupur district. The individual was identified as Malem Heisnam, also known as Ngaiba, aged 21, a resident of Karang Maning Leikai under Keibul Lamjao Police Station. Police said the arrest was made during a follow-up operation based on field intelligence.
Meanwhile, in Imphal West district, security forces arrested a woman cadre belonging to RPF/PLA for her alleged involvement in extortion activities. She was identified as Chabungbam Thaibema Devi, also known as Medha, aged 49, a resident of Tera Loukrakpam Leikai under Lamphel Police Station. During the operation, officials recovered ₹1 lakh in suspected extortion money, along with a mobile phone and an Aadhaar card.
In another operation, Manipur Police arrested an active cadre of KCP (Taibanganba faction). The arrested person was identified as Thangjam Tomba Meitei, also known as Bikash, aged 31. He is originally from Laingoubi Awang Leikai and was staying at Wangoo Ahallup Awang Leikai at the time of arrest. He was apprehended from his present residence under Kumbi Police Station in Bishnupur district.
