Ahead of the second Test match between India and South Africa, Indian cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir visited the revered Maa Kamakhya Dham at Neelachal this morning. Gambhir offered prayers at the temple, seeking the blessings of the goddess for the Indian team ahead of the much-anticipated match scheduled to start on November 22 at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati.

Accompanied by several team officials, Gambhir spent some time at the temple performing rituals and offering prayers. The visit was a quiet and spiritual moment before the team shifts focus entirely to preparation and practice. Sources said Gambhir expressed hope for a good performance by the team and for a safe and competitive series.

Both the Indian and South African teams arrived in Guwahati yesterday. On arrival, they were escorted to their accommodation at the Radisson Blu Hotel, where players rested and settled in to prepare for the upcoming Test match. The atmosphere in the city is filled with excitement as cricket fans eagerly await the second match of the two-Test series.

Today, the teams will begin practice sessions at the ACA Stadium in Barsapara. The South African team, led by captain Temba Bavuma, started the day with fitness drills at 9 a.m., followed by net practice. The Indian team is scheduled to take the field in the afternoon at 1 p.m. for their practice session. Team officials emphasized the importance of these practice sessions to fine-tune strategies and focus on key aspects ahead of the match.
