Guwahati is getting ready for a very special and exciting event next month, as the Indian Air Force (IAF) will carry out a huge flying display over the Brahmaputra river at Lachit Ghat. The event will take place on 9 November 2025 as part of the celebrations for the 93rd anniversary of the Indian Air Force. People in Guwahati and across the Northeast are looking forward to this rare and thrilling show in the sky.

According to officials, preparations are already in full swing. Aircraft taking part in the show have started arriving in Guwahati, and the teams are busy with rehearsals and planning. The rehearsals will help the pilots and support teams coordinate perfectly so that everything goes smoothly during the main event. This grand display will be held from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on 5, 6, 8, and 9 November, giving people several chances to witness the spectacular performances.

The Indian Air Force has planned to showcase many advanced aircraft during the display. The crowd will be able to see the indigenous Light Combat Aircraft Tejas, the powerful Rafale fighter jet, and the world-famous Suryakiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT), among others. The Suryakiran team is known for its breath-taking formations and thrilling aerobatic maneuvers, and is always a huge attraction at air shows in India. Along with these, other frontline aircraft of the Air Force will also take part, making the event even more special.

The theme for this year’s Air Force Day is “Infallible, Impervious and Precise – अचूक, अभेद्य व सटीक.” This theme highlights the core values of the Indian Air Force — perfect accuracy, strong defence capability, and the ability to carry out missions with high precision. The IAF wants to show that it is always ready to protect the country and is fully capable of handling any challenge in the air.

Officials say that the celebration is not just to display the strength and skills of the Air Force. It is also meant to honour the long and proud history of the IAF, which has protected the nation for decades with courage and dedication. The event aims to motivate young boys and girls from the Northeast to think about joining the Air Force and serving the country. Many students and youth from Assam and nearby states are expected to attend, and this flying display will give them a close look at life in the Air Force.

The Brahmaputra riverfront will be the main viewing area, and people will be able to watch the show from both the northern and southern banks of the river. The wide open sky above the river will make the perfect stage for the aircraft to perform. The city is expected to see a huge turnout, as air shows by the Indian Air Force are always popular and attract thousands of spectators.
