In a major security operation across Manipur, state police detained three insurgent cadres and recovered a significant cache of firearms and ammunition from a concealed location in the hills. The operations were carried out in a coordinated manner, reflecting the ongoing efforts by authorities to maintain law and order in the state.

The most notable recovery took place on November 20 in the Urangpat hill ranges under the jurisdiction of Yaingangpokpi Police Station. Security personnel discovered a hidden cache of weapons and ammunition, which included a pistol with an empty magazine, a tear gas gun, a country-made bolt-action rifle, a country-made .22 rifle, three tear smoke shells, 11 live rounds of various calibres, and 25 empty cartridges of 7.62 mm and 9 mm ammunition. Officials said the seizure was a major step in curbing insurgent activities in the region.

Earlier, on November 19, three individuals linked to banned outfits were arrested in separate operations across Imphal East and Bishnupur districts. Bidyasagar Ngangom, 19, a PREPAK operative, was apprehended from Kongpal Iranpham Thong under Porompat Police Station. He is a resident of Kwakeithel Konjeng Leikai in Imphal West.

In a separate operation, KYKL cadre Salam Sadananda Singh, 28, also known as Bablu, was arrested from Phaknung Makha Leikai under Lamlai Police Station. Authorities stated that Singh had been involved in extortion activities targeting local residents. Another KYKL member, Wangkhem Romesh Singh, 43, also known as Rome or Khagemba, was taken into custody from Moirang Ngangkha Leikai under Moirang Police Station in Bishnupur district.
