Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Kaliabor on January 18 to lay the foundation stone of the proposed Kaziranga Elevated Corridor, a major infrastructure project estimated to cost around ₹7,000 crore.

During the visit, the Prime Minister will also address a large public rally at the Nij Silabandha Mouchanda field in Kaliabor. Preparations for the programme are in full swing, with officials working round the clock to ensure smooth arrangements for the event. Nearly 1.25 lakh people are expected to attend the rally.

A huge pandal covering about 3,09,404 square feet is being set up at the venue. Eight separate parking zones are also being prepared to accommodate around 4,000 vehicles. Security arrangements have been tightened, with around 5,000 security personnel and officials expected to be deployed during the programme.
