A tense gunfight between forest guards and poachers at Orang National Park in Assam ended with the death of a poacher late Tuesday night. The incident took place in the Rahmanpur area of the park, known for its rich wildlife and strict anti-poaching measures.
According to sources, forest personnel were on routine night duty when they spotted a group of poachers trying to enter the park premises. The guards shone their torches toward the intruders to alert them and prevent illegal entry. In response, the poachers allegedly opened fire, prompting the forest guards to retaliate immediately.
