The ongoing Silsako eviction protest took a dramatic turn as a group of women launched a sit-in demonstration outside Dispur Police Station on Wednesday, demanding the immediate release of four detained male protesters. According to reports, Panbazar Police had arrested 18 women from the protest site on Tuesday but released them later that night.

However, four men taken into custody by Dispur Police remain unfreed, prompting the women to stage a “dharna” in front of the police station, shouting slogans against what they termed as “unjust detention.” The protesters has vowed to continue their agitation until the arrested individuals are released.
