The Thadou Students’ Association (TSA), Sadar Hills, has announced the list of the Top 10 schools in the Sadar Hills area of Kangpokpi District, marking a major step in its efforts to strengthen the education system in the region.
The announcement was made after a detailed assessment carried out by the Department of Education, TSA Sadar Hills. Officials said the ranking was based on the performance of schools in 30 academic and co-curricular competitions held between October 5, 2024, and November 22, 2025. The process, TSA said, followed clear and fair guidelines and focused on merit, consistency, and overall student participation.
According to TSA, the Top 10 schools are: Apex Christian English School, St. Vincent School, Ideal Senior Secondary School, Omega Public School, TL Shalom Academy, MBC Higher Secondary School, Pathfinder Academy, Apple Buds, Elite Higher Secondary School, and Baptist English High School.
TSA leaders said the ranking was not meant to create pressure but to encourage healthy competition and steady improvement among schools. They added that both academic results and participation in extracurricular activities were taken into account to reflect the true performance of each institution.
Over the years, TSA has played an active role in supporting education in Sadar Hills. The Association has regularly organised academic competitions, debates, sports events, and student-focused programmes. It has also worked closely with schools to monitor performance and identify areas that need improvement.
By giving importance to extracurricular activities along with studies, TSA said it wants students to grow in confidence, discipline, leadership, and creativity. “Education is not only about marks. It is also about building character and skills that help students in real life,” a TSA official said.
The initiative has received a positive response from parents, teachers, and educationists across Sadar Hills. Many have described the ranking as a transparent and encouraging step that motivates schools to improve teaching standards, facilities, and student support systems.
Parents said such recognition helps them better understand school performance and encourages institutions to remain accountable. Teachers, meanwhile, said the ranking pushes schools to work harder and focus on both classroom learning and student development.
TSA reaffirmed that it will continue its efforts to strengthen education in Sadar Hills. The Association said it plans to expand academic programmes, introduce training and capacity-building initiatives for teachers, and create more inclusive platforms for students from all backgrounds.
TSA leaders stressed that education remains the foundation for peace, progress, and long-term development in the region. They said the current ranking is only one step in a larger journey to build a stronger and more reliable education system.
