Veer Lachit Sena leader Bikash Axom, who surrendered before Dispur Police Station on November 1, has been placed under judicial custody as part of ongoing investigations into several criminal cases filed against him.

Police officials confirmed that Axom is currently in judicial remand, while authorities continue to probe multiple allegations linked to him. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Mrinal Deka had earlier registered two separate cases against Axom, which reportedly include serious charges of abduction and extortion. Police have said they plan to produce him in court soon and request a 10-day custody period to carry out further interrogations.

The latest case, numbered 883/25, has been registered under Sections 308(2), 308(5), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Investigators allege that Axom led a group of 10 to 12 individuals in the abduction of businessman Rahul Mishra.
