The main accused in the mysterious death of renowned singer Zubeen Garg in Singapore, Shyamkanu Mahanta, along with Garg’s manager Siddharth Sharma, will be produced today in the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court of Kamrup Metropolitan District. The court appearance is being arranged by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) handling the case.
Shyamkanu Mahanta and Siddharth Sharma were arrested on October 1 in connection with the investigation into Zubeen Garg’s death. Both were placed in the custody of the SIT for 14 days, which comes to an end today. The SIT will formally present them before the court as part of the ongoing legal process.
The investigation has been intensifying since the singer’s sudden death, with authorities questioning several individuals to gather more information. Alongside Mahanta and Sharma, three more expatriate Assamese are expected to appear at the CID office today to provide statements. So far, seven expatriate Assamese have already met with the CID and given detailed accounts related to the incident.
