Dr. Hitesh Barua, the family doctor of late singer Zubeen Garg, today spoke out to clarify that reports suggesting Zubeen Garg suffered from depression were completely false. The doctor emphasized that such news has caused unnecessary distress to Zubeen’s wife, Garima Garg, and should not have been circulated by the media.

Speaking to reporters, Dr. Barua said, “Zubeen Garg was never into depression. This is wrong and misleading information. Media, people, and journalists should not spread such news. As his doctor, we never declared that he was in depression.”

Dr. Barua also shared details about Garima Garg’s current health. “Garima did not sleep well. She experienced some dizziness, and her mood was low. We checked her blood pressure and other health parameters. Everything is fine. Nothing serious is wrong with her,” he said.

The doctor expressed concern over the impact of false news on the family. “Because of these unverified reports, Garima felt sad and could not sleep. This is why I want to make it clear: Zubeen was a direct person. He always spoke straight from his heart. Such rumors about his mental health are completely wrong and hurt the family. We all knew how he was, and we provided proper care,” Dr. Barua added.

He further urged journalists and media houses to avoid spreading false information in the future. “Fake news like this should never be told. It causes emotional harm to family members and creates unnecessary confusion. As a doctor, I want to make it very clear that Zubeen Garg was never depressed. He was always himself, straightforward and sincere,” he said.

Dr. Barua also said that he visited Garima Garg in the morning to check her health and found her physically fine. “Everything is okay with her now, but these false stories have hurt her emotionally. Media should be responsible and avoid reporting things without proper verification,” he said.
