Bandita Devi Rabha, a talented young woman from Bamundanga village in West Goalpara, Assam, has brought immense pride to her home state and the entire Northeast by winning national recognition from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for her outstanding performance in the field of cosmetology.
She secured the All-India top rank in the Cosmetology trade under the 2025 Industrial Training Institute (ITI) program conducted by the National Skill Training Institute (NSTI-West) based in Tura, Meghalaya. Her remarkable achievement was acknowledged at the 4th National Skill Convocation 2025, held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, on October 3, where Prime Minister Modi personally felicitated the top-ranking students from across India.
Bandita Devi’s journey is an inspiring story of dedication, hard work, and perseverance. She began her training at the ITI Dhupdhara Kothakuthi in Dudhnoi Samjila during the 2022–2024 batch, where she built her foundational skills in cosmetology. Later, she pursued advanced training at NSTI-West in Tura, where her consistent performance, creative talent, and commitment to excellence earned her the national distinction.
Speaking about her achievement, officials from NSTI-West said that Bandita stood out not only for her technical expertise but also for her creativity and leadership qualities during the training period. “She displayed remarkable skill and discipline throughout her training, making her one of the most promising cosmetology professionals to emerge from the institute,” one faculty member said.
