Assam Director General of Police Harmeet Singh, who visited Baksa on Wednesday, appealed to the public not to take the law into their own hands. “We all want justice for Zubeen Garg, but there is a due process for ensuring it. India is a democratic country governed by constitutional provisions, and the law must be followed,” Singh said.

The DGP assured that investigations are ongoing in coordination with forensic and investigative agencies, and those found guilty will face punishment as per the law. The accused have been remanded to judicial custody, emphasizing that the court, not public action, is responsible for their imprisonment.
