“It has come to notice that an event is being organised at Ulubari below the flyover on Saturday, 18th October 2025, at 4 PM without prior permission or information, to pay tribute to the heartthrob of Assam, Zubeen Garg. No one needs our permission to pay tribute to our dearest Zubeen Garg. However, we must ensure that traffic is not disrupted and that the normal life of people — who are also ardent fans of Zubeen Garg — remains unaffected,” the statement read.

The police have suggested that such gatherings or tributes may be held at open venues such as Latasil, Chandmari, or other suitable fields, provided due permission is obtained from the authorities managing those places.
