Following the deadly bomb blast near Delhi’s Red Fort that claimed 13 lives, security agencies in Assam have stepped up vigilance to prevent any possible threat. In Guwahati, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Railway Police have intensified security checks at the Guwahati Railway Station located in the busy Paltan Bazar area.
Early this morning, RPF personnel carried out detailed searches across all platforms, waiting areas, and surrounding premises. Sniffer dogs were used to inspect luggage, parcels, and passenger belongings to ensure no suspicious items were left unattended. The checking was done systematically, with passengers being requested to cooperate during the inspection.
Apart from ground searches, the railway police deployed drone cameras to monitor activities inside and outside the station. The drones were used to keep an aerial watch over the platforms, parking areas, and entry points, providing a real-time view to the security control room. Officials said the surveillance will continue until further notice as part of heightened security arrangements.
