Amid the growing tension and emotional outpouring following the untimely death of iconic singer Zubeen Garg, his wife, Garima Garg, has shared an emotional message on Facebook, urging people to stay united, compassionate and peaceful during this difficult time.

In her post, Garima wrote, “I have not only lost my husband… Every Assamese household has lost a son, brother, friend or guardian.”

Garima shared pain felt by millions. “Across the world, countless people who loved him have lost someone dear. Everyone’s heart, mind, and conscience are heavy with grief, pain, and countless questions,” she expressed, acknowledging the collective sorrow that has united people across communities, regions and generations.

She appealed for calm and understanding during this sensitive period, reminding everyone that empathy and peace must guide the public response. “In such a time, it is most important that we all try to understand each other’s emotions with empathy. Let us put aside pretence and misunderstandings, and face this moment with honesty and simplicity,” she wrote.

Garima prayed for harmony and protection from further sorrow. “May peace and harmony prevail, and may no more sorrow or harm befall anyone,” she added.
