Assam Congress President and Jorhat Lok Sabha MP, Gaurav Gogoi, today took a pledge to work for the welfare of Assam and its people, drawing inspiration from the late Zubeen Garg, a beloved artist and a true son of Assam.
Taking to social media platform X , Gogoi said that he was motivated by the values, philosophy, and vision of Zubeen Garg and announced his commitment to serve the state in every possible way. “From today onwards, we will become the guardians of Assam’s soil,” Gogoi said. He emphasized that the foundation of his efforts would be love, peace, and harmony for a “great” Assam.
Gogoi outlined a comprehensive vision for the state. He stressed the importance of respecting all castes, religions, and communities while opposing any forces that spread fear, hatred, or discrimination. He pledged to fearlessly raise his voice against any authority for the welfare of Assam and its people.
Environmental conservation formed a key part of his message. Gogoi promised to protect Assam’s trees, hills, rivers, ponds, and all living creatures. He also committed to helping the poor, the suffering, and those in need.
Highlighting the significance of cultural identity, Gogoi said that Assam must preserve its Assamese identity while promoting the spirit of ‘Unity in Diversity’ to the world.
