Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Friday vowed that those responsible for the recent violence in Santirbazar will face strict action. “No one will be spared, and the perpetrators will be nowhere in the coming days,” Saha told reporters, signaling the state government’s firm response to the incident.

The Chief Minister made the remarks after visiting GB Pant Hospital to check on victims injured during the violence that erupted following a bandh called by Tripura Civil Society in Salema, Kamalpur subdivision on Thursday. Officials and local residents were among those hurt during the clashes, Saha said.

“This is really unacceptable,” he said, describing how the assailants attacked people with sticks and rods and snatched chains from victims. Saha added that he had monitored the situation overnight and issued directions to the police to take immediate action.

“I have directed Tripura Police to take proper steps, and the law will take its own course of action,” the Chief Minister said. Authorities reported that around 12 people were injured, with some still undergoing treatment in Kamalpur. Saha also mentioned that several participants had been identified through social media, reinforcing his warning that those involved “will be nowhere in the coming days.”

Police have deployed additional personnel in the affected areas as investigations continue. Saha’s visit and statements highlight the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety of residents and holding those responsible accountable. Medical teams are tending to the injured while inquiries proceed, and officials are working to restore normalcy in the region.
