The Guwahati Traffic Police has announced a series of traffic regulations and parking arrangements ahead of the Post Malone Live Musical Concert scheduled on December 8 at the Veterinary College playground in Khanapara. The police said that the measures have been taken to avoid traffic congestion and to ensure the safety of the general public on the day of the event.

Officials said that movement of commercial goods vehicles and slow-moving vehicles will be restricted from 10 am in several stretches around Khanapara and adjoining points. These include GS Road from Sixmile underpass to Khanapara Rotary, Sixmile under bridge to Balughat Tripura Goli through Jayanagar, the Beltola Tiniali to Jayanagar route, Jayanagar Chariali to the APSC point, as well as the service road between Khanapara Rotary and Basistha under bridge. Restrictions will also apply on the stretch between Balughat Tripura Road and Khanapara Rotary.

Further regulations will begin from 3 pm and continue till the end of the concert, or longer if needed. Vehicles moving from the Prison Gate point near Vivanta Hotel towards Koinadhara point on National Highway-27, and the return stretch from Koinadhara back to Prison Gate will be regulated. Traffic restrictions will also be applied in the stretch between KV Khanapara and the APSC point, and in the service lane of NH-27 from Koinadhara to Khanapara Rotary on the Rohika side.

The Traffic Police has also notified several no-parking zones for the day. Parking on both sides of the road will not be allowed from Sixmile under bridge to Khanapara on GS Road, and further along the routes towards Jayanagar Chariali, Balughat Tripura Gali and APSC point. There will be no parking on NH-27 and its service road between Balughat and Khanapara Rotary, as well as on the road from Khanapara Rotary towards Pinku Cutting near the KIA service centre, and further till Greenwood Resort.

As per the advisory, audience members have been provided with specific parking locations depending on the approach they will use to reach the venue. Those coming from Ganeshguri through GS Road can use the parking space at Veterinary Farm Gate, Krishi Bhawan, Jyoti Vishnu Auditorium (under construction), and the Veterinary College Campus at Khanapara.

People arriving from the Sonapur and Jorabat side have been asked to park near the Indian Oil petrol pump at Khanapara, nearby Mukut Parking and Basistha Mandir Path. Similarly, those coming through NH-27, Beltola, Jayanagar Chariali or Hatigaon can use Tripura Gali, Patarkuchi, Kamakhya Kata near Phoenix Showroom, KV Khanapara, NIPCCD, the area near Zudio Showroom at Tripura Gali, NERIM at Basistha, and the Assam Ware House Corporation near the BMW service centre.

Separate parking has also been identified for two-wheelers at Beltola Bihutoli, inside the Veterinary College Campus and near Kirloskar Hybrid Engineering at Jayanagar.

The police clarified that emergency vehicles such as ambulances, fire tenders, oxygen supply vehicles, school buses and vehicles belonging to local residents will not be affected by the restrictions. The public has also been requested to use the foot-over-bridge near Vivanta Hotel while crossing GS Road to avoid unnecessary risk.

The Guwahati Traffic Police has advised people to follow its social media handles for real-time updates on traffic movement and available parking spaces as the event approaches.
