In a direct warning to Pakistan, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on Friday said that India is fully prepared to respond to any threat and will no longer show the restraint demonstrated during Operation Sindoor 1.0. Addressing soldiers in Anupgarh, located in Rajasthan’s Sriganganagar district, General Dwivedi emphasized that Pakistan must stop supporting terrorism if it wishes to “retain its place on the world map.”

“India, as a country, is fully prepared this time. And this time, it will not show the restraint that it showed during Operation Sindoor 1.0. This time we will take a step forward and act in a manner that will make Pakistan think whether it wants to remain on the world map or not,” General Dwivedi said, urging Indian soldiers to remain vigilant and ready for action.

The Army Chief recalled the May 7 strikes, codenamed Operation Sindoor, which were launched following the tragic April 22 Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians. During the operation, India successfully targeted nine terrorist sites inside Pakistan—seven by the Army and two by the Air Force—aiming solely at terrorist bases. “We only wanted to harm the terrorists. We have no complaints against ordinary Pakistani citizens, as long as their country does not sponsor terrorists. Because terrorists were being sponsored, those targets were hit,” he said.

Meanwhile, massive unrest continues in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), where the Awami Action Committee (AAC) has led protests across Rawalakot, Mirpur, Kotli, and Neelum Valley. The protests, which followed a shutter-down and wheel-jam strike, were aimed against the Shehbaz Sharif-led government and the denial of fundamental rights to residents. At least ten people have died in the recent unrest, while internet and mobile services remain suspended in the region.

India has called on the international community to hold Pakistan accountable for its “horrific human rights violations” in PoK. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated, “We have seen reports of brutalities by Pakistani forces on innocent civilians. This is a natural consequence of Pakistan’s oppressive approach and its systematic plundering of resources from these territories, which remain under its illegal occupation.”
