Tanzil Hussain, son of Assam Congress MP Rakibul Hussain, appears to have a long history of breaking traffic rules. Records obtained by A to Z Prag News show that between 2023 and 2025, Tanzil was fined eight times for violating road safety regulations.

His fines began on 18th December 2023, followed by violations on 19th February 2024, 23rd February 2024, 23rd March 2024, 12th July 2024, 3rd September 2024, and 3rd January 2025. Each time, he paid a fine of Rs 2,000. The reasons for these penalties ranged from minor traffic infractions to unauthorized use of vehicle features, highlighting a recurring disregard for traffic laws.

The most recent incident occurred on Thursday night in Ri-Bhoi district, Meghalaya, when police found a flasher light fitted to his car without permission. Ri-Bhoi Senior Superintendent of Police VS Rathore led the inspection and said, “The light was being used without any authorization, which is a clear violation of government rules.” The flasher was removed immediately, and a fine was imposed. Rathore also remarked, “Is the MP sitting inside the vehicle? No. You are misusing the privilege. Has the entire family of the MP become MPs now?”
